Autumn Grief Rituals: Oct 24, Nov 28, Dec 27

Facilitated by Therese, Tere and the Sacred Groves community

This ritual was initially inspired by a short grief ritual done with Joanna Macy. We begin with a grounding meditation, an introduction to the value of community grief ritual, then a talking circle where participants share about their losses and grief. We put on music to stretch and move, calling us to get embodied. From that we provide steady drumming on our beautiful mother drum (shown in photo above) as backdrop while participants are invited to express their grief somatically and vocally in whatever way feels helpful. This is the heart of the ritual. We end with song, and personal check ins; then get grounded with soup & root vegetables.

Timeframe: October 22 3:30-8:30pm; November 28 and December 27: 2:30-7:30pm. We’re changing the timeframe from what we did last year so we have daylight for time out on the land; and at the end, there is no rush trying to get to the ferry
