RITE OF PASSAGE JOURNEYS
Rite of Passage Journeys has crafted unique programs to support girls and boys in taking the leap from childhood into adolescence in an intentional and supported way, so that they emerge with greater self-knowledge of who they are becoming. These two programs for teens and tweens include time at Sacred Groves, so we are highlighting them. But ROPJ also offers a coed three-week journey for teens ages 15-18, and shorter journeys for boys and girls, ages 8-12. If you are looking for a program that connects your youth to a deeper sense of self, nature, community and the sacred, visit the Rite of Passage Journeys website to learn more.
Becoming a Young Woman: One-week Retreat
July 1-7, at Sacred Groves
How could it change the teenage years of a girl to have mentors, who have walked the path before her, guide her with love and wisdom into adolescence? To have her family walk beside her on that journey, honoring and celebrating her step out of childhood? To have a group of peers supporting her and sharing the journey with her? To be welcomed into young womanhood by an older generation of women who share with her the gifts and strengths and beauty of womanhood?
Coming of Age for Girls: Three-week Backpacking Trip
July 29-Aug 19, at Olympic National Park & Sacred Groves
Set in the forests, mountains, and waterways of Western Washington, this program is designed to empower participants to recognize and walk in the truth of their own spirit. Laughter, sweat, creativity, reflection, and new friendships all come together for those who are willing to discover more about themselves and their unique contributions to the world.
