- Dharma and Writing--Women's Meditation Retreat with Sandy Boucher--Aug 15-17
Sandy Boucher is the author of eight books and recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in Literature. She has been pursuing her Vipassana meditation practice for 25 years, and has been teaching writing and meditation almost as long. She serves as a contributing editor to Persimmon Tree, an online literary magazine by women over sixty. writer/teacher/consultant, Sandy is known as a spokesperson for Buddhist women in America, as well as a teacher and meditation retreat leader. In 2006, she was named an “Outstanding Woman in Buddhism” at the United Nations in Bangkok, Thailand. For more information about this event click here
- Women's Drumming Week-end with Simone LaDrumma
Aug 22-24, private event by invitation only. Simone LaDrumma is well known in the Puget Sound area. She and Therese have been drumming buddies for many years and she's been out to the Groves for workshops in the past. To learn more about her, click here. Sept 8-12 on the Olympic Coast
In traditional Native American culture, Vision Quest includes setting up a sacred circle in the wilderness and spending a number of days in solitude and prayer in that sacred circle, fasting and opening to guidance from spirit. Quests are an opportunity to focus on significant prayers and intentions, to help one through a transition of some sort, to release the past and/or to step into the future in a new and positive way. It creates a space apart from one's usual routines to focus on your spiritual path and the direction you intend your life to go. Quests are facilitated by Therese. They most often happen in the woods of Sacred Groves, but every September a group goes out to deeper wilderness for Questing. The next group Quest happening at the Groves is Labor Day week-end. Quests can also be individually scheduled at the convenience of those involved. A wilderness Quest is scheduled on the Olympic coast for September 8-12th.
